Web Technologist

Me = Web Technologist!

It's quite challenging labeling myself because I have worn many hats in the last 20 years. To give you a deep understanding of my experience in this area, I started doing graphic design on an Apple PowerMac Plus. That computer is now more than 24 years old! I was a junior in high school at the time. I created flyers and brochures for my landscaping business on that computer. Later on, I did my creative work on Power Macs and using Photoshop and PageMaker Pro to create my print work. I also became very proficient in troubleshooting Apple computers and that started my career in computers.

By 1994 I was an Apple Support Engineer for an Apple reseller in Albuquerque, NM and was also responsible for provisioning and maintaining our web server. Two years later, however, I landed a solid role as an Apple and PC Support Engineer for the Department of Energy. The next four years I supported both Apple and Intel-based computers. Craving to get back into web design and development I moved to Houston, TX to work for an eCommerce department in a large Fortune 500 telecommunications company. The next 15 years I spent immersed in web design, UI/UX, Java development, software testing (QA), enterprise content management and collaboration, document retention, project management, web analytics, SEO, and social and digital marketing. I worked for multipe Fortune 500 companies increasing my knowledge in web design, content publishing, analytics and digital marketing.

The graphics and web design software I have used throughout my career are: Photoshop, PageMaker Pro, QuarkXpress, FileMaker Pro, CAD, Flash, Illustrator, and Dreamweaver. Content management systems I have administered and managed are: OpenText Livelink, SharePoint, LotusNotes, DonNetNuke (DNN), Joomla, Mambo, and WordPress. To support web design and development, I have had to become familiar with the following programs and marketup languages: CSS, html, javascript, java, asp, aspx.net, actionscript and php.
